The meeting on Wednesday night 4/13/2011 went well with quite a good turnout.
Mike presented an extremely detailed comparison of how powered RC battery connectors between Deans, Fake Deans and XT type power plugs. Including information about the gold plating, thermoplastics and surface contact area as well as some torture tests he ran on the connectors. It was very interesting information and I’m going to see if I can get a report on that.
We had some great projects which folks brought in and also a flight simulator available for people to try out and have fun with.
It looks like the flying season is coming soon or already here. I was out this evening and got in a few great sunlit flights. The field is alternating between soggy and ‘alright’ depending on if it rains that day and there’s some plans in the works to get the field rolled soon.
JohnS provided me with a CD with a bunch of photographs and information from the last few years. I’m currently trying to find a good way to organize those in a gallery so folks can have a blast from the past if they like.
As a side not the server that this website is on is incredibly slow so I am going to move it to a better performing server but the change should be mostly unnoticeable aside from improved speed. -Jon
