May 2011 Meeting and Build Contest

Sorry for the delay in getting these photos out I’ve been totally absorbed in a project.

We had a great turnout this month with a lot of great looking planes. People brought their projects from the winter to be judged. There was a good variety of aircraft and building techniques displayed.

If you have better identification for the planes shown in the photos please feel free to go to the Sawyer R/C Forum and talk about them.

MikeF brought several planes and I think each one was a different building technique or covering method involved, he’s certainly exploring a lot of different methods with great results.

LeeH brought a great looking plane but I can’t for the life of me recall what it is.  The build and finish looked excellent!

DonP brought some of his scratch builds which looked great as well, a lot of custom manufactured parts and as always unique and interesting designs.

OllieT also had some pretty cool little composite planes which he built from scratch to show off. and we also had JohnS showing off some building techniques as well.

WayneB brought some interesting planes as well as shown in the first photos.

There were quite a few other planes as well with various custom work and finishes
