NERFF, the Northeast Rotary Flight Fest held it’s first event on July 29-31. It’s the first year of the event and one of the first helicopter oriented fun-flys in this area that I am aware of. I went up there on Saturday with Ollie and some non-club members (yet) Joe and Mike to check things out and see what was going on. There was a good compliment of both stunt/3D helicopters and scale helicopters as well, with 2 flight lines setup. One flight line was for the scale pilots and one was for the 3D pilots, though everybody kind of merged their tents and vehicles together and got along fine.
It was a warm day but not terrible, the property that the event was held on is a farming property and the actual flying areas are surrounded by trees. The field also sees use for concerts and other events throughout the year. There are two good sized fields to fly within and plenty of space for parking and camping for the pilots if they were staying overnight. There were some good burgers, dogs and ice cream floats available for reasonable prices. We took a bunch of pictures, most of which I put on my personal site due to the storage requirements and also some video as well. Enjoy!
