In order to have more accurate information about the weather conditions at the field it was proposed that we should add a weather station right at the field itself. Due to the rapidly changing and highly variable conditions at the field it is sometimes difficult to plan a flying day without actually going to the field, which can be quite a drive for some members.
In the April meeting it was discussed and decided that the weather station should be funded by donations rather than pulling from the club’s general fund, and donations were gathered the same evening. We received enough to fund the weather station! Thank you everyone who contributed.
The club president will verify with the land owner that it is OK to install the equipment at the field, and if that goes well, as expected then things will progress on the installation of the station. I will post more updates as the work progresses.
